I edit video with code using HyperFrames, which lets you describe a video in code instead of assembling it by hand on a timeline. I have used it for promo and product videos for clients, for BabyJunctions Reels, and for my own brand videos.
What those jobs have in common is volume. A client needs the same product video in several sizes, BabyJunctions needs a Reel every day, and my own videos need to match each other. When a video is code, a new version is an edit and a re-render, not another session in an editor, and that is what makes many variations affordable for a small team. These posts are about where that approach fits, and where a good editor is still the better choice.
